MTPM, the transaction processing monitor for Siemens BS2000 computers.
A transaction processing monitor is a software program (or a series of programms)
to control the communication between many users and a collection of transaction
processing routines (TPRs) on the mainframe.
Minimal overhead.
MTPM is the transaction processing monitor with a minimal overhead, that can
control many production environments at the same time. This minimal overhead
leads to very fast respons times. The simultane control of many production environments
results in a login once situation for the users, no need to connect to all those separate
production environments.
High availability.
Extremely high availability is the result of some specific facilities offered by MTPM,
under which the facility for on-line patching. An error in an user TPR results not in
distortion of the the complete system but only in that of that TPR.
Cooperation with DP2.
As a matter of fact MTPM is designed to cooperate perfectly with TPRs build by
DP2. MTPM's user interface is build with the use of
DP2 also.
